GROSS DOMESTIC PHILANTHROPY: An international analysis of GDP, tax and giving

In 2006 Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) produced a Briefing paper entitled International comparisons of charitable giving1 which ranked countries by how generous they were as a proportion of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This aimed to compare rates of giving internationally and the underlying causes of the differences between nations, drawing on a range of data sources in coming to its findings.
