Building the infrastructure necessary for philanthropy to operate and succeed is challenging. The first of those challenges is to increase the recognition of the important role of the institutions dedicated to this task, the value of whose work often goes unrecognized. The second challenge is to grow the field and make it stronger. As the report suggests, philanthropy infrastructure is usually weaker and less developed where it is most needed.
