NA'AMAT USA
Founded in 1925 as an organization dedicated to aiding Jewish women trying to survive in pre-state Israel, NA'AMAT USA is celebrating 90 years of dedicated service to the women, children and families of Israel this year! Identifying strongly with the trailblazing immigrant women of Palestine, the American women called their organization Pioneer Women. In the years that followed, the organization grew into a national movement and the largest women's organization in Israel. In the beginning, the organization provided vocational training for women working on collective farms and advocated to protect their rights. Soon after, members raised funds to build nursery schools for the children of working mothers. As NA'AMAT in Israel, expanded into a huge social service network, NA'AMAT USA helped its sister organization build community centers, women's clubs, legal aid bureaus, provide services to help new immigrants and promote cooperation between kibbutzim, moshavim and Arab villages.
