No need to fix something that isn't broken For more than 60 years and through multiple significant tax reform efforts, the nonpartisan nature of 501(c)(3) organizations - charitable nonprofits and foundations - has been a fundamental part of the identity of the sector. Most nonprofit leaders, including religious leaders, support keeping this protection in place.
