Social Finance Fund

On 14 December 2017, the Senate adopted an Order of Reference authorizing the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology (or the committee) to examine and report on issues relating to social affairs, science and technology generally. Under this Order, the committee undertook a study of a social finance fund, holding two meetings, on 14 and 15 February 2018. The committee heard from members of the steering group responsible for co-developing a Social Innovation and Social Finance Strategy with the Government of Canada (the Co-Creation Steering Group), created in August 2017.
