Understanding Restricted Funds

From time to time you'll have donations, grants, or individual contributions that come with a few strings attached. These could be restrictions on how the money will be used or the time frame in which it can be used. The funds could be temporarily restricted or permanently restricted. If there are no restrictions, then you have unrestricted funds.
