These area non-profits are benefiting from CareSource Foundation grants

Local nonprofits such as Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati and National Alliance of Mental Illness of Southwest Ohio were among those awarded $5,000 grants recently from the CareSource Foundation. The CareSource Foundation has awarded $155,000 in grants over the second half of 2018, it stated in a press release. The foundation for the Ohio-based insurance company gears its grants toward nonprofits that are working to eliminate poverty, provide services to low- and moderate-income families, build healthier communities and develop innovative approaches to address significant social issues. CareSource has about 2 million members in five states. Most of its business comes from managing private Medicaid plans, but the insurer also sells private Medicare plans and individual plans sold on the Affordable Care Act exchanges.
