State Awards City Nonprofits $4M

The state will give five local nonprofits over $4 million in aid Thursday as part of the outgoing governor’s grant program to help nonprofits with infrastructure improvement projects. Gov. Dannel Malloy announced that 92 Connecticut nonprofits will receive roughly $30.8 million in state grants as part of the state’s Nonprofit Grant Program. “Created by Governor Malloy in 2013,” state spokesperson David Bednarz wrote in Thursday’s press release, “the program has invested a total of $105 million in hundreds of the state’s nonprofit organizations since its launch. Today’s allocations are the program’s seventh round of grants.
