Both grantmakers and nonprofits want to demonstrate their impact, but some may not be adequately prepared to address the challenges that arise along the way. Some funders skip important steps in development while others fail to pay enough attention to their grantees’ capacity or preferences when designing and implementing evaluations. When organizations skip the important groundwork, they end up wasting time and resources, with often unreliable results to show for it.
