Make-A-Wish, the international nonprofit granting life-changing wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, recently announced a new collaboration with Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews, the casual dining chain restaurant with more than 510 locations in the United States and Canada. Red Robin's multi-year commitment of more than $3 million to Make-A-Wish is the largest corporate donation from a new partner in Make-a-Wish's history.
Reb Robin will contribute 10 cents to Make-A-Wish for every kid's meal purchased in all corporate-owned and involved franchise restaurants in the United States and Canada beginning from February 20. Additionally, Red Robin will support the nonprofit with local wish granting, a multi-year cause marketing campaign, and yearly seasonal promotions.
Every year, 27,000 children are diagnosed with a critical illness that may qualify them for a wish, and Make-A-Wish currently grants about half of those wishes. The national partnership will help raise vital funds to grant more life-altering wishes to children – many of whom credit their wish with aiding in their recovery. The company has fulfilled more than 360,000 wishes for children with critical illnesses in the United States and more than 550,000 wishes worldwide since its founding in 1980.
President and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, Leslie Motter, shared, "We know wishes bring hope and renewed joy to children battling critical illnesses." She added, "Our partnerships are the driving force behind every wish granted, and Red Robin's generous commitment will have a powerful impact on our mission and the lives of children and families nationwide."
