Globant, a tech company, is expanding its partnership with NPower, a nonprofit that helps military veterans and young adults from underserved communities in the US get free tech training and jobs. This partnership is good for both Globant and the NPower students because it gives Globant access to a unique pool of talent and gives the NPower students valuable job skills they might not have had the chance to learn otherwise.
As part of the partnership, Globant will provide NPower with financial support, advisory services, and experienced volunteers over the next two years. Since 2020, Globant has helped NPower by funding and training in technology to military veterans and their spouses in multiple markets across the country.
The goal of the partnership is to help NPower serve about 1,500 people each year across the country by giving them training and real-world experience in technology basics, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. By providing these skills, the partnership will help NPower participants gain the experience they need to make themselves marketable and stand out among their peers.
"Increasing equity in the technology industry is essential to building more inclusive workplaces, communities, and solutions. The help that our partners like Globant provide is vital to ensuring we can make continuous progress towards this goal. Globant's proven ability to master technological innovation at a rapid pace makes them a perfect partner for NPower, and we are excited to help each other and our broader communities grow."
Bertina Ceccarelli, Chief Executive Officer at NPower.
The goal is to make the tech industry more fair and open to everyone by giving training and support to underserved and underrepresented groups like young adults, women of color, and people who have been in the military. This partnership with Globant helps NPower reach its goals of giving people access to jobs in the technology sector and making it easier for people to move up the social ladder.
About NPower
NPower has built a network of Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized businesses, government agencies, staffing firms, and nonprofit partners that host its interns and hire its graduates full time.
NPower is a national nonprofit that trains underserved youth and veterans in tech skills and places them in jobs. Students in their free, six-month program earn industry-recognized certifications and graduate with one to two years of IT experience. NPower places students in corporate and nonprofit internships. 80% of NPower graduates get a job or continue their education. NPower changes the lives of people from vulnerable communities and boosts the competitiveness of U.S. businesses with limited IT talent.
