The 5th annual Give BIG San Bernardino County 24-hour web-a-thon raised nearly $240,000 for local nonprofits. There were 4,682 donations made from midnight Tuesday, Oct. 30 through midnight Wednesday, Oct. 31, going to more than 100 nonprofits in San Bernardino County, according to a news release from The Community Foundation, which organized the event, and the county. Donations ranged from $4 to $8,600, with the largest single gift going to The Unforgettables Foundation, which provides financial assistance for child funerals and memorials.  Friends of Big Bear Valley received the most donations, at 1,014, and Morongo Basin Humane Society raised the most money overall. “In 24 hours, San Bernardino County came together for a day of generosity that illustrates how much the people in San Bernardino care about keeping our region strong,” said Michelle Decker, President and CEO of The Community Foundation, in the news release. “A special thanks to the County of San Bernardino and all of our other wonderful sponsors, community partners, and donors, who made Give BIG San Bernardino County a success.” The event raised more than $1.5 million for 333 nonprofits over the past five years.
