Barton Health Receives $10 Million for Orthopedics Center

Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe, California, has announced a $10 million gift from Lisa Maloff to establish an orthopedics and wellness center at its Robert Maloff Center. Housed in the 26,000-square-foot Maloff Center, the recently opened Barton Center for Orthopedics & Wellness is focused on improving community health by combining traditional orthopedic medical care with integrative medicine and wellness treatments such as acupuncture, mindfulness classes, nutrition counseling, and personalized rehabilitation. Patients at the center are guided by "care navigators" who can direct them to any of the center's services, including those associated with its certification as a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Center of Excellence. "The Barton Center for Orthopedics & Wellness's innovation is something we've been conceptualizing for over a decade," said Barton Health CEO Clint Purvance. "Now, with the support of our community, stakeholders, team members, and donors we are providing a healthcare system that offers our community a new model of care, tailored to their personal goals and health journey."
