Area nonprofits getting grants to help people in need

Hundreds of nonprofits that provide essential human services in the 12 states where Dominion Energy offers service are getting grants to help feed, shelter and care for people in need. The company has given $1.6 million total to more than 200 nonprofits. Locally, eight organizations are getting a total of $21,000. They are the Charlottesville Free Clinic, City School Yard Gardens, Inc., Holliday Trails, People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry (PACEM), Operation First Response, the Louisa County Resource Council, the Madison Free Clinic, and the Orange County Free Clinic, Inc.
