80 per cent of new CRUK supporters haven’t opted into fundraising communications
Cancer Research UK | January 12, 2017
Cancer Research UK has confirmed that only around 20 per cent of new supporters have opted in to receiving fundraising communications from the organisation, since it moved to opt-in for new supporters last April. A spokeswoman from Cancer Research UK said that, during a three-month trial period, 100,000 new supporters were asked whether or not they wanted to explicitly opt in to receiving direct mail fundraising communications from the organisation. Only 20,000 of those new supporters opted in. She also said that the numbers of new supporters who had opted in to receiving telephone fundraising communications during the trial period were “in single figures”. - See more at: https://www.civilsociety.co.uk/news/80-per-cent-of-cruk-new-supporters-haven-t-opted-in-to-receive-fundraising-communications.html#sthash.KvdTBMS7.dpuf
