Members of BDO’s Compensation and Benefits practice will share insights on recently issued preliminary guidance from the IRS regarding the new 21% excise tax where tax-exempt employers could owe taxes on annual executive compensation over $1 million. The excise tax could also be applied to separation pay that equals or exceeds three times the average earnings of certain highly compensated employees. We will also discuss new Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT) increases for tax-exempt employers who provide parking and/or transit benefits to employees.
