The United Way of Indiana County has announced a funding opportunity for 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Indiana County. The opportunity is available to groups who significantly impact the community and drive change to positively affect the next generation. It will target children and youths up to age 8 to provide a direct impact on helping them succeed. The proposed program must address preparing children academically and socially for success by helping them achieve crucial developmental milestones and to start school ready to succeed. The United Way of Indiana County is responsible for identifying community needs and for funding programs that make a measurable impact. The United Way is concentrating a percentage of the total allocation to one or more evidence-based programs addressing the community need of childhood readiness. All funds granted to a recipient are to be used solely for the benefit of Indiana County residents.
