The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation is giving thousands to help local non-profits. Almost $80,000 is going back into communities across Northeast Kan., thanks to money made at the Prairie Band Casino. Organizations say this donation is going to help them reach just one more person. Organizations from Topeka, Jackson Co., and all the way to Wichita, were honored and rewarded for their work in their communities. The Sertoma Club of Topeka is going home with $5,000. But the money won't just go to them, but to other non-profits they help. "Our funding has reached hundreds, and hundreds of people through the 24-years of the duck race," said Julie Hetjmanek, with the Topeka Sertoma Club. "We've donated back $800,000 to the community. So this will help us continue to grow that number." Another group benefitting from the casino's donations, puppies.
