DONOR RETENTION

A vital part of any organization's success is the retention of its supporters. How well are nonprofit organizations engaging and retaining their donors? The Fundraising Effectiveness Project (FEP) was created to answer this question. Donors giving less than $100 as their highest previous contribution have a significantly lower retention rate. This indicates that organizations using the premium model, low average gift and high attrition, will continue to face increasing challenges as costs continue to climb.

The Fund for the Arts is the oldest united arts fund in the country and has raised millions since its establishment in 1949. Today the Fund provides financing, facilities and administrative support for twenty-nine area arts groups and programs. In addition, over 200 community access grants are awarded annually to community groups and schools in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Other Fund sponsored activities include the annual Whittenberg Young Artist Scholarship, co-sponsorship of the Gheens Young Artist Program with the Kentucky Center and support of the annual Black Achievers Arts Scholarship Program.
