Xcel Energy awards $79,500 in nonprofit grants

The Xcel Energy Foundation has awarded $79,500 to 25 Texas-based nonprofits supporting education and economic sustainability missions. “Our job is to provide our customers safe, clean and reliable energy at a reasonable price, but we also know that the quality of life in our communities is equally important to their continued success,” said David Hudson, president, Xcel Energy – Texas. “Our nonprofits are key partners in this success, and we are pleased to be able to support their good efforts.” Through the Foundation’s focus area grants, Xcel Energy supports nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations through multiple focus areas. Texas nonprofits that improve science, technology, engineering, economics and math education and help individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency were invited to submit applications this year.
