Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is a worldwide nonprofit organization that has been sparking the entrepreneurial mindset of young people since 1987. It has been recently selected as one of the World Economic Forum's Education 4.0 Lighthouses. In addition, the organization is awarded for its World Series of Innovation (WSI), an initiative focused on challenging young minds to solve the most significant challenges humanity faces. The nonprofit is dedicated to creating unique learning experiences and empowering students to own their futures.
The World Economic Forum's Education 4.0 Alliance has named 16 organizations as Education 4.0 Lighthouses, which represent innovators using forward-thinking and transformative practices to reimagine the learning experience for children in advance of this year's summit in Davos as leaders reshape learning for youth. These organizations are scaled actively to bring visibility to policies, collaborations, and practices, progressing to future-ready learning and offering inspiration to those who wish to improve the education quality.
The World Series of Innovation (WSI) initiative invites young people to change the world with the help of entrepreneurial thinking, by submitting innovative ideas for solutions to the world's most pressing problems, including poverty, and a lack of equality and justice. To advance 17 UN goals that all together form a roadmap to a better future and call for the safeguarding of the planet and equity for all is the mission of the initiative. Youth from 65 countries answered the call last year, and 1249 submissions representing 59 countries among the finalists will be announced on February 10, 2023, at innovation.nfte.com. Young people from 13-24 years of age are eligible to submit ideas. The organization believes that the solution to advancing the future of education is youth engagement.
