Today GreenShield announced it will further assist those affected by wildfires and other emergencies. To do so, she donated an additional $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross, bringing her total donations to $150,000. This contribution will be used to fund the Canadian Disaster Relief Fund, which helps the Canadian Red Cross respond quickly to emergencies and provide much-needed assistance to those in need.
In addition, GreenShield knows that beyond the property damage caused, wildfires have serious consequences for the well-being of people, their families and their communities. To lend its support, GreenShield Health is offering two free hours of online therapy through its Inkblot offering to help those affected by wildfires across Canada .
“Our hearts go out to the people affected by this disaster,” said GreenShield President and CEO Zahid Salman . “With this additional donation, we want to support immediate relief efforts to help those in need while promoting the long-term healing process through our mental health support program. Together, we can make a difference, restore hope to these communities and strengthen their resilience.
As part of this added commitment, GreenShield's team of counselors are there to provide these people with a safe space where they can express their emotions, grieve, and find strength in the face of adversity.
