DonateStock Partners with Celebrities to Boost Fundraising Efforts on Giving Tuesday

DonateStock, an innovative fintech company transforming charitable giving, has partnered with nonprofit foundations supported by Bode Miller, Monica Seles and Elisabeth Hasselbeck to increase their fundraising efforts this #GivingTuesday.

Traditionally, charitable giving has been confined to cash or a complex stock gifting process that hindered nonprofit fundraising potential. By donating stock, via, nonprofits keep a larger percent of the proceeds and donors make a larger impact while avoiding capital gains tax.

Bode Miller started The Turtle Ridge Foundation which supports adaptive and youth sports programs. "The Foundation seeks to provide a philanthropic platform in the community, support youth & adaptive sports programs and offer the opportunity for our disabled community and young people to participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities that would not be available to them without our help," said Bode Miller. Charter Announces $30 Million Spectrum Community Assist Initiative To Revitalize Local Community Centers

Charter Communications, Inc. announced the launch of Spectrum Community Assist, a $30 million, five-year philanthropic initiative to revitalize community centers in rural and urban areas, and invest in job training programs in underserved communities across the company's 41-state footprint. By 2025, Charter will improve 100 centers across the country, impacting an estimated 50,000 local residents, including through financial support for job skills training programs, new technology and 1 gigabit high-speed internet service, as well as building refurbishments and repairs. Charter kicks off the program on Sept. 18 at the Better Family Life Community Center in St. Louis, followed by similar events in Charlotte next month and Stamford in November. Through Spectrum Community Assist, Charter will partner with national and local nonprofit organizations to identify and improve community centers in underserved areas in need of support. At each center, revitalization events with employee and community volunteers will be held to repair and enhance the physical buildings. As part of Charter's ongoing commitment, the company also will invest in the centers' job training efforts with cash grants and in-kind contributions, improve physical classroom spaces and provide new equipment, including laptops and furniture. Additionally, because broadband is a critical component of a community center's infrastructure, Charter will offer each community center its advanced 1 gigabit internet service. "Community centers are hallmarks of our neighborhoods; people turn to these centers for support, shared experiences, and for help developing new job skills or finding employment," said Rhonda Crichlow, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer for Charter, which operates the Spectrum brand of internet, TV, mobile and voice services. "Seven years ago, we set out to make a difference in our communities through Spectrum Housing Assist, which provided critical home repairs for low-income homeowners. Physical improvements to be completed by Charter employees and community volunteers include painting, landscaping and light construction. $1.1 Billion Raised for Social Good on Nonprofit Giving Platform, Classy, in 2021

Classy, a giving platform that enables nonprofits to connect supporters with the causes they care about, announced that its nonprofit customers collectively raised more than $1.1 billion on the Classy platform in 2021. Despite another year of uncertainty, donors once again rose to the challenge for charitable giving, providing not only one-time donations but also increasing the number of recurring donations in 2021 by 55% on the Classy platform. Further, data from Classy found that donor generosity was not limited to a single cause or even payment method this year, ushering in a new era of American philanthropy. Classy's Why America Gives 2021 report found that about one-third (31%) of donors would support at least three organizations with ongoing recurring donations in 2021. Classy saw donors fulfill their intent by committing to $30.8 million in recurring donations on the Classy platform in 2021, a substantial increase from last year's record of $19.9 million.
