Consumer Cellular CEO Ed Evans announced that the company will make a $100,000 donation to the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund to benefit the victims of the recent tornado that overwhelmed the area.
Evans said the donation is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to serve the communities where it is located.
The tornado that ripped through western Kentucky is completely devastating for the entire state and nation. Through this donation to Gov. Andy Beshear’s relief fund, Consumer Cellular wanted to show our support for the state and victims of this natural disaster. We also hope it proves we are committed to helping the communities where we are located. I encourage other companies and individuals to donate if they can to help Kentucky heal. I appreciate the governor’s efforts in standing up this fund to help Kentuckians.”

Earlier this month, Gov. Beshear announced Consumer Cellular will be opening an office in Kentucky and aims to hire nearly 500 individuals while investing over $15.5 million in the state.
“I would like to thank Consumer Cellular for their support as we continue to help families in Western Kentucky recover from the devastation of this storm,” Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said. “We need all of the assistance we can get as we work to rebuild these communities, and support from our business partners is greatly appreciated. With this donation, Consumer Cellular is showing great leadership during a time of need in the commonwealth.”
