The nonprofit sector in German-speaking countries is constituted by a variety of organizations, institutions and initiatives. As in many other countries, the sector includes a wide range of organizational forms, from those providing health, education and social services to those promoting civic engagement and cultural events. These multi-functional organizations simultaneously interact within very different environments.
