Gates Foundation Pledges Another $90M To Fight Coronavirus Outbreak

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has pledged a commitment of $100 million to fight the coronavirus outbreak that originated from Wuhan city in China, it announced Wednesday. What Happened the non-profit organization founded by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) co-founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates said the funding would help "strengthen detection, isolation and treatment efforts." The funding will also go towards the development of vaccines and protect at-risk populations, the Gates Foundation said in a statement. "Multilateral organizations, national governments, the private sector and philanthropies must work together to slow the pace of the outbreak, help countries protect their most vulnerable citizens and accelerate the development of the tools to bring this epidemic under control," Gates Foundation CEO Mark Suzman said.
